With this weekend came a second wave of 80's. Like me, some of them may have been Shadow Priests looking forward to their guild's first run of Naxxramas 10. Unlike me, they probably went - Twin Cities Comcast took a huge dive on Sunday. Of course, in true Murphy fashion, it came up about 15 minutes after raid start time. No biggie, however.
The REAL problem I'd set about dealing with on Sunday, was the dreaded Hit Cap. All DPS classes have some sort of hit cap to contend with. In BC, Shadow Priests hat Hit Cap easy mode, a mere 76 with talents compared to their Warlock and Mage counterparts.
For Wrath:
290 hit is the cap with 6 points between Shadow Focus and Misery
315 hit before you can go to 5 points between Shadow Focus and Misery
341 hit before you can go to 4 points between Shadow Focus and Misery
368 hit before you can go to 3 points between Shadow Focus and Misery
394 hit before you can go to 2 points between Shadow Focus and Misery
420 hit before you can go to 1 point between Shadow Focus and Misery
446 hit before you can go to 0 points between Shadow Focus and Misery
Hit rating is point for point more DPS then dmg, crit, and haste (until cap) in the case of Shadow Priests. It sucks especially for us, having a channeled spell being a large part of our dps rotation. Not only do we pay the mana up front for a resist instead of getting a comforting, misleading castbar, but we only have to wait a GCD to spam (and miss) again.
None of the items on this list involve Heroic Dungeons. It's all very quick and dirty and not the most optimal piece. However, if you're a Shadow Priest like me who's guild is jumping back into raiding this quick and you need to get a handle on your hit rating right now, this will do.
Most raiders who've killed Illidan or been to Sunwell will no doubt have pieces left over as well. This is list is meant to round out the last big +hit chunk you need, with a variety of pieces to choose from.
Weapon:
Chilly Slobberknocker (Quest Reward)
Flameheart Spell Scalpel + Misc OH (Kirin Tor - Revered) 34 Hit Rating
Rings:
Ring of Northern Tears (JC) 31 Hit Rating
Voodoo Signet (Gundrak Quest Reward) 24 Hit Rating
Trinket:
Rune of Infinite Power (Wyrmrest Quest Reward) 55 Hit Rating
Back:
Dark Soldier's Cape (Ebon Blade - Honoured) 29 Hit Rating
Cape of Seething Steam (Halls of Lightning Drop) 29 Hit Rating
Chest:
Turtleminder's Robe (Kalu'ak - Honoured) - 38 Hit Rating
Enchants:
Enchant Boots - Icewalker 12 Hit Rating
Enchant Gloves - Precision 20 Hit Rating
Remember that it's better to be under then over. If you are 10 points away from cap, don't choose a piece with 30 hit rating. It provides no additional benefit after cap besides stealing your stat budget.
Save that extra piece specifically for boss fights, or gobble down some +hit food like the Outland recipe Spicy Hot Talbuk.
For a more enjoyable list of items and an excellent post altogether about gearing your Shadow Priest for Wrath, see Isisxotic's post here.
Happy Hitting!

I have 24 hit rating. Maybe 42. /hide
Of course, I do have Balance of Power, and I specced Imp FF (even though moonkin everywhere hate it) because I don't usually run with a shadow priest when I'm in instances.
